3D metal printing meets Industry 4.0

Hard meets soft, material meets software - this is how one could describe a new investment by a medium-sized company that realises 3D-printed precision components in metal. A software has now been implemented there that optimises the metal laser melting process from design to production and finishing. A world of rapid changes and a murky feeling of uncertainty among people in Germany - the present has to be mastered and contained with art. Is that still satire, or already a revolution? This is the question that Jan Böhmermann and his partners at the Bildundtonfabrik will be posing, until 4 February 2018, with their joint exhibition at the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf.
